Former player and coach, Jordon Smedley, has been announced as the Head Coach for the Atlanta Rhinos for 2022 and 2023 season. Jordon returns to Atlanta on a two-year deal where he won the national championship with the Rhinos in 2017.
ATLANTA, GEORGIA — The Atlanta Rhinos are pleased to announce the signing of Jordon Smedley as Head Coach for the 2022 and 2023 NARL Seasons. A National Championship winning coach and player previously with the Rhinos franchise, Smedley will not only oversee the preparation and development of the NARL squad, but also commence the groundwork with club officials on our pathways program within the Atlanta school system and youth rugby.
“I am grateful for the opportunity and the faith the club has once again shown in me to return to Atlanta and lead the Rhinos franchise into an exciting era within the NARL Competition” Smedley said.
“I love this club, we have a strong culture and there is a special feel about the place. We have a talented, tight knit playing group which is continuing to evolve and develop and whom are committed to creating success. We have a lot of hard work ahead for what is somewhat of the unknown in terms of our first season in the NARL, which we are fully aware of, but we are all excited for what lies ahead. The focus is currently on having a strong preseason and putting ourselves in a position to start the season strongly”.
